The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) is a national organization. Many parishes have chapter groups, and St. Christopher is no exception.
Our parish's "brand" of ECW is known as the Women of St. Christopher. Every woman is a member and always welcome at any activity. ECW Meetings are held at various times as needed. Watch for announcements!
St. Christopher Thrift Shop
in 1958, the thrift shop sells good, clean used clothing and household goods to
the League City community. Volunteers from St. Christopher and others staff the
shop. Most of our income is designated as outreach (see Grants). Other funds
support the many ECW activities.
Twice a year the Grant Committee, made up of the ECW Board, Thrift Shop volunteers and invited guests, distribute the funds to local and international organizations that have submitted grant requests. We grant about $20,000 each year!
Each spring, women from St. Christopher, friends, family, and extended friends and family, enjoy a weekend of spiritual renewal, music, fun and food. We sleep in air-conditioned comfort. And, no one is called “Mom” by anyone under the age of 18!
The ECW is often called upon to hostess special events at the church. This usually means bringing food, setting up, and serving refreshments.
