Holy Wednesday
“So keep your mind on Jesus, who put up with many insults from sinners. Then you won’t get discouraged and give up.”
This is verse 3 of Chapter 12 from the Letter to the Hebrews. It’s a reminder to us, this fourth day of Holy Week, of where our focus should be this week and from where our strength comes.
We walk in the footsteps of Jesus, through death on the cross, to the empty tomb revealed to the world on Easter day. Our energy and strength to walk this week comes from the very one who gave himself for us. He embraced sabotage, betrayal, pain, and ultimately death, so that we might have the power and courage to walk in his very footsteps… and so that we would have the strength to endure all things.
God’s love for you surpasses all understanding. It surpasses death. God’s love for you endures all things!
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. May the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, keep you safe and make you strong, this night and always. Amen.
