"I Love the Rain"

There is a running saying in our house. Whenever we hear or see rain, Crystal immediately shouts out “I love the rain.” She says it for two reasons... first because it’s her “thing to say” (most everyone has a saying, don’t they?), and second because she actually does love the rain. She appreciates the good gift it is from God, how it refreshes the earth, how it cleanses everything, and how it rinses the dirt off her car.

Zechariah 10:1 says, “Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime; it is the Lord who sends the thunderstorms. He gives showers of rain to all people, and plants of the field to everyone.”

Brothers and sisters, rain gives us the very obvious opportunity to see God at work and give God glory. Take a moment, the next time it rains, to adore God’s handiwork and appreciate God’s gift of refreshment.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. May the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, keep you safe and make you strong, this night and always. Amen.
